EMR-Link implementation includes a host of services to help your organization use electronic orders and results successfully and get the most from them.
Lab orders needs assessment: Ignis interviews key personnel in your practice to learn how labs are ordered today, where specimen collections occur, what your order routing and insurance rules are, and how billing occurs. From this needs assessment, we determine the scope of the implementation.
Project kick-off: We review the project plan, set specific go-live dates, download the software, set up EMR-Link web service accounts, and assign homework to the project team. Homework includes using utilities to create provider tables, insurance tables, test maps, etc. so EMR-Link can create orders that are clean and complete.
Project management: The Ignis team coordinates project activities and documents the project.
Site setup: We create the EMR lab order categories and custom order lists. If these are already in place, we use the tools to map existing EMR orders to the orders needed by the lab. We also create the tables required for patient insurance. If the practice requires routing tests to multiple labs, we help map EMR lab orders to the orders for those labs. This is the most significant effort of the implementation process.
Training: For large implementations, we start by training the first two practices on EMR-Link user workflow and system maintenance. During this time, we also train internal experts to roll out EMR-Link to later practices.
Pre-production testing: We complete the lab’s test plan, which covers a combination of tests, insurances, and billing rules. We also validate the auto-generation of ABN forms, distribution of results to provider, and auto-completion of EMR orders.
Going live. When the test plan is complete and users are trained, EMR-Link is ready to go live.
Optional services
Large Project Management: For large or complex implementations involving multiple labs and/or multiple clinics, we can provide additional resources for needs assessment, scoping, and project management.
Implementation Services: Some sites may require additional training, testing, or workflow consulting that is out of scope for a practice implementation.
Product Development: For sites that need custom features beyond basic EMR-Link or OrdersAnywhere functionality, we offer product development services.
